As a Michigan tax payer, one important question we need to
be asking ourselves is; what role do I want to play in assisting ex-offenders becoming productive citizens in my community?
Most people want to see a positive return on their money. Yet in Michigan, tax payers are footing the bill for an epidemic called Recidivism – ex-offenders returning to incarceration – at the rate of $34,000 per inmate, per year, paying over two billion dollars annually. Over 80% of those being released from prison return within two years. For those coming out of county jail, 8 out of 10 return within 24 hours. Michigan spends more on its prison system than on higher education,
in return, creating a revolving door that sets ex-offenders up for failure. CFTI opens a door of opportunity to change; to change those statistics and to change lives – offering you an opportunity to invest your money in a more positive, productive manner called Rehabilitative Love.
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'’” ( Matthew 25:37 thru 40 ) The question is: How well are you performing in this act of compassion? Jesus Himself is going to judge us, placing some of us on His right and some of us on His left. Which side will you be on? The choice is yours. It’s our prayer you will help support our ministry by making an on-line donation and then ask the Holy Spirit to bless what you give. The size of the contribution doesn’t matter. Its the size of your heart God measures. |
